- Bedding: Top and bottom sheet for a twin-size bed and pillow/pillowcase.
Sleeping bag and/or blankets.
- Clothing: Bring enough comfortable, modest, non-binding clothing for the duration of your stay,
as only minimal hand washing facilities are available.
Temperatures: {Winter: 16°F-31°F} {May: 46°F-67°F} {Aug: 58°F-78°F}
- Toiletries: Towel and all needed toiletry and personal non-scented hygiene articles
(soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, unscented deodorant, shaving and sanitary
supplies, etc.)
Please do not use scented perfumes or shaving lotions
as others may be allergic.
- Small travel alarm clock.
- Footwear: easy slip-ons (e.g. clogs, flip flops, etc.)
- A shawl or light blanket other than your sleeping blanket for use in the meditation hall.
- Meditation cushion - we also have a limited supply. Meditation cushions at the site are
very limited so please try to bring your own cushions if possible.
- Flashlight with extra batteries.
- Water bottle.
- Liquid laundry soap if you intend to hand wash items.
- Jackets, sweaters, and/or shawls.
- Raingear (boots, umbrella, raincoat), warm clothing, hat.
- Unscented mosquito repellent.
- Fans (most residences are not air-conditioned).
- Meditation cushions: We supply a large base cushion for every student.
We have a very limited supply of smaller sitting cushions, so please bring
any additional cushions that you may need.

- Modest dress is required: tight, transparent, revealing or otherwise striking clothing such as
shorts, short skirts, tights, leggings, sleeveless tops or tank tops should not be worn at the center
- books and other reading/writing materials
- cell phones or palm pilots to be used during the course or as alarm clocks
- electronic equipment
- musical instruments
- personal food items
- tobacco in any form
- non-prescribed drugs
- perfumes or strongly scented toiletries
- objects with religious or spiritual significance
- jewelry or other unnecessary valuables
If you arrive with any of these items you will be asked to leave them with the management until the end
of the course.
